If you’re the kind of girl who sets your watch by show season and is always the first to log to see the pre show sketches, catwalk photos and show videos, you are in for an extra treat today as we launch our very first series of exclusive Fashion Week podcasts.

London, Milan and Paris shows as she gives you the scoop on the top looks for the season, straight off the catwalks, as well as talking to designers, buyers and industry insiders about what’s making spring/summer 2009 tick.

London Fashion Week began on Sunday with a feminine flurry from some established British labels and a tongue-in-cheek take on the spring/summer 2009 season from some of the newer names.

The event has a reputation for championing cutting edge design and promoting young talent, such as Christopher Kane, Henry Holland and Giles Deacon, all of whom will show this week.

PPQ, headed by Amy Molyneaux and Percy Parker who list the letter “P” as among their inspirations, combined a space-age collection including jumpsuits with a humorous take on 1940s-style hats.

Designs reminiscent of an air stewardess’ uniform with belted waists played alongside quirky oversized t-shirts worn as dresses and huge gold earrings in the shape of the letter “P.”

British high street brand, Topshop unveiled its Unique collection - a high-end offshoot of the store’s regular stock - and models wore large cloth Alice bands tied in bow ties, short sleeved jumpsuits and little black dresses.

Ossie Clarke made its second London Fashion Week appearance after a relaunch last season, and featured draping silk creations and large hand-painted patterns, marking a return to the label’s 1970s heyday.

Named after the influential London designer who died in 1996, the collection, which is now led by designer Avsh Alom Gul, included georgette and organza silk in block colors described as “verdant green,” “negligee nude” and “boudoir grey” and starred model-of-the-moment Jourdan Dunn.

In the next five days designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Julien Macdonald, Paul Smith, Luella Bartley and Giles Deacon will showcase their collections for next spring.

Caroline Charles, whose career spans 40 years, showed a feminine and sophisticated collection with monochrome skirt suits and dresses in fuchsia pink and delicate silk. She welcomed the broad range of styles at the London event.

Create a contour underneath your cheekbones with a bronzer or darker powder.

Since a gradual tanner takes two to three days to do its work, plan ahead to look your best for your event.

How To: Cover Up Flaky Skin

It is very hard. The best advice is to exfoliate the skin and then apply a moisturizer.

Make sure you apply cream in an upward motion so that it stays on the skin rather than getting absorbed.

You want a nice layer of moisture so that your foundation will go on more smoothly.

IF ever there was a dress up day on the front rows of New York Fashion Week,as the kings of high maintenance gloss and polish - Oscar de la Renta and Michael Kors - showed their inimitable take on city style for spring/summer 2009.

At Kors, a day on the lake proved the jumping off point for nautical-inspired show Triple A: Architectural, Athletic, American, which was bursting with cheery oversized red polka dots, surfboard-inspired stripes and “sails” of fabric trailing from the back of dresses. For those after hours moments, chic anoraks came thrown over prom-style cocktail dresses.

In a somewhat more subdued palette of oyster, blush, avocado and navy punctuated with Ikat prints and lavish ruffles, de la Renta gave his fans plenty to lust after with a collection bursting with classically tailored skirt suits and easy, breezy full-length skirts perfect for lunching. Of special note were the accessories, huge waist-cinching belts and lunchbox-shaped handbags that are sure to sellout before they even hit the shelves.

Less demure - but by no means less covetable - were Anna Sui’s earth-toned embroidered shell tops and ethnic-printed strapless dresses; the embellished navy mini skirt suit sported by Agyness was one of the best we’ve seen for the season so far.

For those young enough to carry off the high fashion look, super short tailored and cuffed shorts, higher waisted shorts and hot pants are a thought to ponder for hot summer days and nights.

But just remember, that the more informal the short, the more “formal” your legs are gonna have to look.

That means no bruises, dimples or blemishes.

However, rather wonderfully, it’s officially okay to wear heels with your hotpants, lenghtening the legs and hopefully deadening any wobble.

Get busy with hair removal, body butter and body foundation!

Start with a layered contoured style cut with short face framing layers to accent and soften large facial features and you have Eve’s short style.

With a few adjustments this style works well for long and narrow face shapes with large or sharp facial features.

This color requires a two step process.
Bleach to lighten the hair to a pale blonde stage and toner for white blonde effect.

For best results consult a salon colorist as this requires careful application and color selection to get the look.

Complex and exotic describe the intriguingly unusual and inviting color palette for fall ‘08.The main colour trends for fashion in autumn 2008 concentrates on the base colour palette of purple wine, cashmere rose, lemon curry, green moss, a soft violet blue, a blue grey green, a deep turquoise, chilli pepper red, burnt ochre and an espresso brown.

GRAY: Yes, it’s the new Black!
You should know that gray is THE COLOR to buy in Fall/Winter 2008.
Structured & interesting shapes, patent accessories, even the new knits - all found in shades of gray (from silver to gunmetal grey).
The grays this season didn’t automatically translate into boring.
Rich hues such as charcoal and anthracite were offered in luxe fabrics and sexy silhouettes- many with intriguing details like beading and crystals.
Major colors this season include also greens, burnt orange (metallic sheen), plaid & houndstooth, and the continuation of the summer trend of multi-colored patterns.

GREEN:
This color will take Fall 2008 by storm.
From rich & textured olives, to jewel-tone emerald green, there will be plenty of jackets & dresses & coats in this luxurious color.
